2016’ı Uğurlarken / The Greatest Love of All – Whitney Houston

Blogum için bu seneye yönelik bir kapanış yazısı yazmak ve ona uygun bir şarkı bulmak istiyordum. 2016 gerçekten pek de iyi anılacak bir yıl olmadı. Kendi hayatımızda ne olmuş olursa olsun, güzel ülkemizde olanların bizi etkilememesi, yüzlerce kişinin kaybını unutmak mümkün değildi. Her seferinde neden, neden diye sorguladım. Bunu yapanlar neden yapıyordu??? Bununla beraber bloğumda karamsarlık ve umutsuzluğu taşımak hiçbir zaman amacım olmadı dolayısıyla seneyi de bu duyguyla kapatmak istedim. Bu doğrultuda birden aklıma gelen şarkı, çocukluğumdan beri çok sevdiğim Whitney Houston’un en eski ve en sevdiğim şarkılarından biri; The Greatest Love of All (1985).

Bu şarkıda soruma kendimce bir cevap buldum; ilk cümlesi “I believe that children are the future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside.” Sevgiyle, ilgiyle büyütülen çocukların dünyaya kötülük getirmeyeceğine dair bir inancım var. Bunun yanında iyi bir eğitim, onlara duyulan güven ve umut duygusu sanki yaşamın diğer anahtarları…

Şarkıda beni etkileyen ikinci cümle ise; “Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all”. Kendini sevmeyi öğrenmek… Burada anlatılan tabii ki egosantrik, narsistik bir şekilde kendini sevmek değil, sadece kendinle barışık olmak… Zaman içinde bunun da ne kadar önemli olduğunu öğrendim. Elbette insan olarak içimizde her tür duyguyu bulundurmamız çok doğal. Ancak zaman zaman hissedebileceğimiz öfke, kıskançlık, aşağılık kompleksi, umutsuzluk gibi hislerin de normal olduğunu, her şeyin insanlar için olduğunu algılayıp bu duygumuzu anlamlandırmak ve olumlu bir duyguya dönüştürmek, kendimizle, tüm duygularımızla barışmak ve aşmak işte sanki en büyük sevgi…

Dünyadaki bu anlaşılmaz kötülükleri aşmanın yolu bana göre tüm çocukları sevgiyle büyütmek ve kendisiyle barışık, umutlu bireylere dönüştürmek. Şarkının son cümlesiyle ben de yazımı ve seneyi tamamlamak istiyorum; kendini yalnız hissettiğinde - “Find your strength in love” – gücünü sevgide bul.

2017’de sizin ve dünyanın sevgide buluşması dileğiyle…
